Noemí Moreno

National Bird Conservation Strategy for Colombia - Coordinator

Noemí Moreno joined Audubon in 2018 as coordinator of the Southwestern Colombian Birding trail. Currently, she leads the implementation of Colombia's National Strategy for Bird Conservation (ENCA), a project that facilitates multi-stakeholder dialogue to promote bird-friendly social and economic development.

Before joining Audubon, Moreno worked as a consultant for Bogotá's José Celestino Mutis Botanical Garden, where she led bird monitoring efforts along with the treatment and maintenance of the city's trees. She currently coordinates the Sabana de Bogotá Christmas count led by the Asociación Bogotana de Ornitología - ABO. Moreno also holds a bachelor's degree from INCCA University in Colombia and a master's degree in conservation and use of biodiversity from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana.
